Back ground of the Experienced RiderCourse.

Research in the area of motorcycle safety reports, some significant findings. For example, one major study of the characteristics of motorcycle accidents indicates that 92% of the accident-involved riders had no professional or formal motorcycle training. Additionally, 75% of the motorcycle accidents involved "experienced" riders (those with six months or more riding experience). Such findings suggest that a high-quality educational program for motorcycle riders is a valuable mechanism to address this problem. This Experienced RiderCourse is based on findings from motorcycle accident research. Those findings indicate problems with riders not having a strategy or plan for traffic hazards. Additionally, deficiencies while cornering, braking and swerving are indicated throughout the research. These four areas form the basis for the ERC.

THE EXPERIENCED RIDER COURSE NOW CARRIES THE GEORGIA STATE LICENSE WAIVER.  ALL TESTING FOR YOUR "M" CLASS LICENSE WILL BE CONDUCTED AT THE END OF THE COURSE. THE FEE FOR THE LICENSE WAIVER COURSE IS $ 100.00

Important Note:

You must have the following to take the Experienced RiderCourse:

1.  Motorcycle Permit

or a "M" Class Endorsement

2 . Provide your own motorcycle

3.  Necessary Riding Apparel to include:

  -  A DOT approved Helment

  -  Eye protection

  -  Full-Fingered gloves

  -  Over-the-ankle Boots

  -  Long-sleeved shirt or Jacket
